I bought a GORGEOUS bottle of elder flower cordial a while ago, but didn’t know what to do with it. It was sitting next to a bottle of gin on my bar, and boom. The idea struck me.
This cocktail is floral, herb-y and damn good.
My friend, Brittany and her husband to be, Tyler came over for cocktails and dinner (which to my delight seems to be becoming a trend). While we mixed drinks, made burgers and caught up on the past week, they both asked my husband and I to be in their upcoming wedding. SO exciting. They are the sweetest, and are a joy to be around.
So, celebrate with us, and make this drink!
4 shots gin
1/4 cup simple syrup
1/4 cup elderflower cordial ( I used Belvoir, available at world market)
1/2 cup tonic water
Peel and slice pears, and combine with simple syrup in a blender. Blend until you have a puree. Add to cocktail shaker with elder flower cordial and ice. Shake for 30 seconds. Pour into a glass, and top with tonic water. Give it a stir, and sip away!!!
