I’m on the blogger naughty list. Somehow I got majorly caught up in the holiday season, and have neglected my poor blog. I’m going to do better, scout’s honor!!
So, the other day we had a Christmas party at our house. I made a big ol’ batch of this cocktail the other night, and it was a hit! I modified a bit for this blog recipe, and am sipping while I type.
This year my husband, Blake and I decided to use our holiday off time to take a little vacay to New Orleans (dreamy, dreamy, dreamy)!!!! One of the places on our MUST DO list is Arnaud’s French 75 Bar. It was the inspiration behind this lovely libation.
Citrus French 75 (yield 2)
3 shots gin
1 shot simple syrup
1 lemon squeezed
1/2 grapefruit squeezed
Rose Brut Champagne
Blood Orange Soda (I got mine at World Market)
In a shaker with ice, measure and pour gin. Add squeezed lemon and grapefruit juice to the shaker. Shake for 25 seconds, and strain into a rocks glass. Top with a healthy amount of champagne, and top that with soda.
Proceed with caution, this one’s boozy (and delightful). 🙂
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
