Fuego Pineapple Margarita

Processed with VSCOcam with a8 preset

We all love a good margarita. It’s the quintessential summer drink. Take yours next level by infusing the tequila beforehand.

I teamed up with Drizly, a company who delivers alcohol to your door in under an hour for this cocktail collaboration. Be sure to check out their amazing archive of recipes as well!

Infused tequila:

1 bottle tequila
1 pineapple sliced
3 slices habanero (less if you prefer)
1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup lime juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3 shots infused tequila
3 slices pineapple (in container)
1.5 shots Grand Marnier
1/2 tbs vanilla
4 cups ice
1 shot simple syrup

Sugar rim:

1/4 cup sugar
2 tbs red pepper

First, I added 1/4 cup of brown sugar in the bottom of an airtight container. Next I layered slices of fresh pineapple and three thin slices of habanero peppers. Then I poured in a bottle of tequila. I let the contents sit for 5 days, until the tequila was sweet and spicy.

For the margaritas— Make a spicy sugar rim by coating the rim of the glass with lime juice, and dipping the rim in sugar/red pepper mix. To a blender add lime juice, pineapple juice, infused tequila, 3 slices of the pineapples, vanilla, simple syrup, Grand Marnier and ice. Blend until smooth, and pour.

Garnish with pineapple slice and sip away!
