Savannah is coastal without being “beachy”, charming without the phoniness and is downright gorgeous. There’s nothing I like more than a city covered in garden squares with ancient oak trees and Spanish moss lazily hanging down. The sister cities (Savannah and Charleston) hold a special place in my heart, along with what I consider their down the bayou cousin, New Orleans.
Despite the sweltering heat, Savannah is a super walkable city with an up and coming food scene. Oh, did I mention that they have lax open container laws (fun)! Here’s a photo recap of our trip, a couple tourist/shopping attractions and five recommendations to try out the local cuisine.

1. The Grey
2. The Florence
3. Olde Pink House
4. Elizabeth’s on 37th
5. The Collins Quarter

1. Wormsloe
2. The Paris Market
3. Ghost Tours
4. Tybee Island
5. Leopold’s Ice Cream
6. Moon River Brewing (haunted!)

It’s 4 hours from Atlanta, but definitely worth the pilgrimage.
