Microblading- Expressions Eyebrow Studio

If eyes are the windows to the soul, then eyebrows are, well curtains.

The eyebrow obsession is real, and we pluck, thread and fill in on the regular for that “natural” look. One day I put it into the atmosphere that I wanted to get microblading done, and lo and behold I was able to do a collaboration with Angela from Expressions Eyebrow Studio in Atlanta!

My oh my how thrilled I was! The process started with a consultation and very detailed explaination of the process. But, the day of I can’t say I wasn’t a little bit nervous.

We discussed my ideas and brow icons pictured here. We worked out a plan for a natural, full brow. I was squealing on the inside… no filler. Sign me up!

Okay, I admit it. I am chicken, chicken, chicken and have an aversion to pain like no other. But, was it worth it? Hell yes. Here are some before photos. Please note, I did not get dolled up for these.

We spent time drawing the perfect, symmetrical shape.   Next time for the numbing. A numbing cream soaked in for 20 minutes. Next, gulp the outline.

She warned me it would be the worst part, and it was. But, once she started the process and continued to numb me between each brow. I started to relax. The entire process from drawing, to numbing to microblading took an hour and a half. Not bad!

Even after reading up on the process I was expecting a tattoo gun of sorts (I have 8 tattoos , ha). But alas, it was a handheld device with “micro blades” literally, that were dipped in ink, and manually they tattoo your new brows on. It creates tiny hairlike strokes to keep everything looking like the real thing!

Halfway through we checked again for symmetry and for any patches. Next, the brows were dyed and I was finito!

The aftercare is easy, and the healing process for me was cake! There was no pain afterwards, and I’m thrilled to pieces with my new brows. There is a follow up appointment 4-6 after the initial process for minor touch ups.

Here is a before and after!

I highly, highly HIGHLY recommend Angela. She’s great, and dealt with my severe baby-ness without a sweat!

Expressions Brow Studio is located in Ansley Mall and you can follow/ check out her work here!
