Beach, please- Sheraton Bay Point Resort, PCB

Cat-20I have this problem… I have a major, major case of FOMO (fear of missing out). So, because I never want to miss out on any activities, events, etc. I say yes, yes, yes until the crash. Last weekend, I got just what I needed. Some good old-fashioned R & R at the gorgeous, newly renovated Sheraton Bay Point Resort in sunny Panama City Beach, Florida. The location has just undergone an incredible $30 million revamp and proudly showcases a AAA Four Diamond rating.

Atlanta, while an amazing city, is missing one thing: the beach of course. Panama City Beach is an easy, 5 hour drive to the Gulf Coast’s sugary, white sand and crystal clear waters. The beaches can’t be beat! Sheraton Bay Point Resort is located a quick skip away from the seaside, has gorgeous bay views and all the activities you can imagine!

Our room was modern, comfortable and overlooked the bay; better yet we had easy access to the stunning pier. Our first stop of the weekend was the Serenity Spa. I don’t know about you, but this was just what my over-exhausted self needed! The spa offers massages, facials, steam rooms, jacuzzis and more. We took full advantage of the amenities and thoroughly treated ourselves.

One thing we’ve been getting into recently at home is biking, and Sheraton Bay Point has options for you! We rented YOLO bikes and were able to sightsee all around the property. There are stunning golf courses, palms and even a marina. For you more active than me folks (lol) there’s a gym, tennis courts, yoga and planned group activities. The property is truly beautiful and you don’t have to leave for anything!

I love to eat, and the property has a plethora of different dining options and bars to suit all your Epicurian needs! We enjoyed the poolside Flipflops, on the pier Pelican’s and swanky Tides. The staff is so gracious and will make you feel like you’re at a beachside paradise.

Day 2 consisted of a dolphin cruise over to Shell Island. Blake and I both went there as kids, and the beaches are just as pristine as we recalled. We had a glorious day soaking up the sun, and came back to yummy seafood on the pier at Pelicans, a local favorite. Next up, adventure! Sheraton Bay Point Resort has a private beach complete with chairs, paddle boards and more. We suited up, and got our board on. We had so much fun with our underwater camera and racing back to the dock (I won of course).

Dinner at Tides was lovely. We enjoyed coastal cuisine in the modern dining room, and cuisine by Chef Shane Miller. If you watch as much Food Network as I do, you’d like to know Chef Shane has been on not one, but two shows and boasts of culinary skills. Our meal consisted of Lobster Bisque, Chop Salad, Miso Sea Bass and Blackened Grouper. An amazing meal topped off with wine and the world’s biggest cheesecake and we were spent!

Day 3 came too soon, and we wrapped up our stay with breakfast and a complete tour of the property via golf cart. Sheraton Bay Point Resort is able to accommodate any kind of getaway you can imagine! From birthday parties to meetings and romantic getaways to family vacations, they can do it all!

I would highly, highly recommend that you do yourself a favor and take a drive down to this wonderful resort. You will not be disappointed and you just may get that rest and relaxation that you need too!
